The National Day of Care is an annual observance promoted in the U.S. the Sunday before Valentine’s Day which encourages all Americans – churches, individuals, and civic groups – to respond to orphans and AIDS in Africa as well as other national and international crises.

Participants are encouraged to donate to the National Day of Care, a nonprofit which supports special orphan projects and partnerships in Africa, or to give funds to the relief organization or ministry of their choice. In 2008, the National Day of Care will be observed on Feb.10.
