COMEDY WITH A CAUSE:
Bent Tree Bible Fellowship Hosts Comedian Tim Hawkins for
Two Shows, Proceeds to Benefit Student Missions
WHAT:

Comedy with Tim Hawkins, Bob Smiley and HimProv.

WHO:

Tim Hawkins, one of the most in-demand comics in America, noted for his ‘clean comedy’ which appeals to multi-generational audiences, with a blend of outrageous and resonating humor. Hawkins’ art form was honed primarily in churches, with an audience ranging from little kids to youth groups to married adults. “I learned comedy in front of a lot of multi-generational audiences, so I had to find material that would cater to all ages,” Hawkins said. “It’s a thrill to provide a family connection where they can share the experience.”

Bob Smiley, a stand-up comic for 10 years, who has opened for such noted Christian bands as Switchfoot, Audio Adrenaline and Newsboys, to name a few. A Texas native, Smiley uses his sharp wit and humor about everyday experiences to bring people closer to God.

HimProv, a family-oriented, Christ-centered improve troupe based in North Dallas. This group will be performing at the 6:30 p.m. event only.

DETAILS:

Due to a 36-hour ticket sellout for the 6:30 p.m. show, organizers, with Hawkins fully on board, quickly added an additional 2 p.m. show, with proceeds of both shows to benefit Bent Tree Student Missions. Through the missions program, more than 300 students and 55 leaders went on 23 local and global mission journeys last summer. Ticket sales for the 2 p.m. matinee have been brisk, with over half of the tickets having been purchased. However, there are still tickets available.

Tickets are $8.00 each or $5.00 each for groups of eight or more, and are available through www.itickets.com or at the kiosk in The Crossing at Bent Tree. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $8.00.
