CHRISTMAS WITH CAPTAIN MAC.A.RONI:
Spirited Characters in Original Animated Film Will Provide Family
Audiences with Laughs During the Holiday Season
DALLAS, Nov. 12, 2009 – As merry and joyful as the holiday season, “The Cheesy Adventures of Captain Mac.A.Roni” – an award-winning, original animated film from Daystar Television Network – cleverly combines comedy and adventure in a values-oriented story fit for families to share together.
“This movie is good, clean fun – perfect for parents and kids to watch together during the holidays and all year long,” said Marcus Lamb, president and CEO of Daystar. “The witty story and memorable characters model love, faith and forgiveness – values ideal for children to see modeled surrounding the Christmas holiday.”
Set in the fantasy realm of Liberty Island, “The Cheesy Adventures of Captain Mac.A.Roni” follows three courageous kids – Sandy, Mikey and Eddie – who have learned that their kingdom’s greatest treasure has been stolen by the sinister Pirate Grime. The valiant and comical Captain Mac.A.Roni, and his cream pie-throwing sidekick chicken named Cheese, show up and set sail for the seas to track down Grime. During the quest, Mac.A.Roni and Cheese teach the children about love and forgiveness when faced with adversity, revealing to them the true meaning of the treasure.
“Christmas is a time when kids are enjoying amusing and over-the-top characters like the Grinch; Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer; Scrooge and Frosty the Snowman,” said Justin Machacek, an executive producer of the DVD. “Captain Mac.A.Roni fits right in too – he’s a hilarious superhero who will demonstrate real-life lessons to children.”
Produced by an Emmy Award-winning team from Daystar, in conjunction with Larry Schwarz of Animation Collective in New York City, “The Cheesy Adventures of Captain Mac.A.Roni” has the adventurous feel and comedic plot children are used to watching on Nickelodeon or the Cartoon Network, blended with Daystar’s well-known, values-oriented foundation.
Ideal as a Christmas gift or stocking stuffer, the DVD received the “family approved” seal from The Dove Foundation that said, “This animated adventure will have everyone rolling on the floor with laughter as they learn important values and lessons.”
In addition, “The Cheesy Adventures of Captain Mac.A.Roni” has won four international Davey Awards in the categories of “Children’s Audience,” “Education,” “Animation” and “Music.” Davey Awards are presented to smaller agencies and organizations that model creative excellence.
“Unfortunately, we live in a time when parents often have to worry about what their kids are watching on television and in movie theaters,” said Lane Trammell, another executive producer of the DVD. “Our goal with this film was to provide a DVD that could serve as a great tool in the classroom for teachers, children’s church and also in the home for parents who are looking for a fun way to teach godly values and morals to their kids.”
Released by Anchor Distributors, “The Cheesy Adventures of Captain Mac.A.Roni” has a suggested retail price of $12.98 and can be purchased at Family Christian, Munce and Mardel stores or through the Daystar online store. Retailers may order the DVD for purchase in their stores by calling 1.800.444.4484.
