First Baptist Campus Key to Spiritual Element of Downtown Revitalization Complementing Performing Arts Center, Convention Hotel and Trinity River Project
WHAT:

First Baptist Dallas, a pacesetting landmark institution in downtown Dallas since its founding in 1868, will reveal plans for a new 21st Century, state-of-the-art campus on Sunday, Nov. 1. The proposed project will be the largest church building campaign in modern history and will change the landscape of the Dallas skyline. The new open campus will complete the circle of resources meeting body, mind and spirit in the current wave of Dallas’ downtown revitalization, including the opening last month of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts and ongoing construction of the Dallas Convention Center Hotel and the $2 billion Trinity River Project.

WHEN:

A visual presentation and details about a proposed campus plan will be given to the congregation Nov. 1 at both the 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services.

A news conference will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Grace Parlor of First Baptist’s Criswell Center.

Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas
Mark Lovvorn, chairman of the church’s Planning & Development Committee and chairman of Providence Bank of Texas.

Dr. Jeffress and Lovvorn will participate in the worship services and news conference. Other members of the congregation and committee will also be available to discuss the building program.

DETAILS:

• All media must check-in in the Heritage Chapel alcove inside the main entrance to the Criswell Center (1707 San Jacinto St., Dallas, TX 75201); journalists will receive press materials and be escorted to services and the news conference.

• Media parking will be available on the first floor of the Ross Avenue garage, across San Jacinto Street from the Criswell Center.

• Satellite trucks can park along Ervay Street, where there will be an area in front of the historic sanctuary for stand-ups.

• Special areas for media have been reserved in the sanctuary, with positions for videographers in the aisles in the far left section of seating.

• A mult-box, lighting and wireless Internet will be available at the news conference.

• Rooms for filing and one-on-one interviews following the press conference will also be available.
