KANSAS CITY CHURCH GETS POLITICAL
AS CAUCUSES BEGIN IN IOWA:
Pastor Adam Hamilton Delivers Sermon Series on the Issues that Divide
WHat: |
As voters around the nation start narrowing in on their candidates of choice, one Kansas City pastor is opening dialogue about the issues and how to thoughtfully consider them during the 2008 election cycle. In a five-week sermon series, the Rev. Adam Hamilton will challenge his 15,000-member mainline congregation to think for themselves, to seriously consider both sides of an issue and then to live courageously and lovingly as they face complex decisions.
Hamilton says the sermon series, which is based on his new book titled “Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White,” is for anyone who is hungry for solutions that don’t fit into a 60-second sound byte or anyone who misses civility and thoughtfulness in politics.

Pastor of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection outside the Kansas City area, Hamilton represents a growing segment of Christians who seek to hold together the best of the left and the right, in what some call the “radical center.” His congregants form a microcosm of Middle America and how it will vote come November. Hamilton is the author of “Confronting the Controversies,” “Christianity and World Religion” and “Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White,” which is set to release in April 2008 from Abingdon Press.
