CURE International is breaking ground on a new specialty surgical hospital in Bethlehem, located adjacent to the Shepherd’s Field of Christmas story fame. The hospital will serve Palestinian children and is a joint effort between Israelis – who will assist with training – and the Palestinians and Christians who will staff the hospital.

• CURE International, a U.S.-based Christian medical charity which operates the largest number of specialty surgical teaching hospitals in the developing world, in November announced plans to open a $16.5 million state-of-the-art medical training center and hospital in Bethlehem.
• In moving into the West Bank, CURE leadership hopes to build bridges of understanding to the Muslim world – a vision they have aggressively embraced after opening a successful hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan, two years ago, and acquiring another hospital in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, last year.
• Representatives of the media are invited to attend an announcement event in Bethlehem. A press area will be set up onsite to accommodate broadcast media needs.
