Keynote Speaker Dr. James Dobson and Other National Christian Leaders
to Join Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church Members
and Florida Citizens to Pay Tribute

WHAT:
Public viewing and funeral services for Dr. D. James Kennedy, founder and senior pastor for 48 years of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church (CRPC) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who passed away Sept. 5.
 
WHO:
For nearly one-half century, Dr. Kennedy’s influence extended beyond his pastoral ministry as a statesman for cultural engagement and champion for moral righteousness. He had a profound impact across the U.S. and around the globe as one of the most respected Christian broadcasters – heard on nearly 750 radio and more than 400 television stations worldwide – and also led by example in Christian education, theological preparation and evangelism training, equipping believers in every nation to share the message of Christ.

WHEN:

Wednesday, Sept. 12, Noon to 9 PM EDT –
Dr. Kennedy will lie in repose in the Grand Narthex

  • The casket will arrive at CRPC at 11:15 AM and will depart at 9:15 PM; media positioning will be available in the front of the church for both arrival and departure.
  • B-roll of the arrival of the casket and portions of the repose will be available on-site by 1 PM and downloadable by 4 PM at www.DJamesKennedyNews.com.
  • Media access into the Grand Narthex will be available from 4-5 PM.

Thursday, Sept. 13, 1 PM EDT –
Public funeral service in the main sanctuary

  • Doors will open to the public at 11 AM.
  • Service participants will include Focus on the Family Founder and Chairman of the Board Dr. James Dobson as keynote speaker; eulogies from National Religious Broadcasters President and CEO Dr. Frank Wright and Amway Corporation Co-Founder Richard DeVos; a family testimony from daughter Jennifer Kennedy Cassidy and statements read by a representative of President George W. Bush and grandson of evangelist Billy Graham.
  • Live video streaming of the service will be provided at www.DJamesKennedy.org; the service will also be carried live on the NRB network (Direct TV channel 378) and INSP Network (carried on more than 2,000 cable stations across the country).
  • Due to anticipated crowds, attendees will be directed to a nearby satellite parking facility at the American Golf Course, 3850 N. Federal Highway, where continuous, air-conditioned shuttle bus service will be provided to CRPC from 10 AM to 5 PM.
  • In addition to seating for 2,500 in the main sanctuary, an additional 1,500 seats will be provided in three overflow locations on campus.
  • In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to the D. James Kennedy Foundation, Inc., 980 N. Federal Highway, Suite 440, Boca Raton, FL 33432.

Friday, Sept. 14 –
Private interment ceremony
