Retired NFL star Chad Hennings says that he wrote “Rules of Engagement: Finding Faith and Purpose in a Disconnected World” because of situations like these. He says that contrary to the John Wayne, go-it-alone myth in this country, all men need other men in their lives who will hold them accountable for their behavior. |

Chad Hennings, author of “Rules of Engagement.” Hennings, a defensive tackle, played on three Super Bowl championship teams with the Dallas Cowboys in the ’90s. In 1987, his senior year at the Air Force Academy, he led the nation in sacks with 24 and earned unanimous All-America recognition.
After graduating from Air Force, he flew 45 humanitarian missions in Iraq during the first Gulf War.
Friends and associates, dating from his days in the military and as a football star, praise his integrity and leadership. “Chad’s exemplary character and commitment continue to set him apart in everything he does in life,” former Dallas Cowboys teammate Troy Aikman says.
