ANNE GRAHAM LOTZ FINDS A
HEALTHY OBSESSION IN TODAY’S CULTURE:

Popular Speaker, Founder of AnGeL Ministries to Release New Book
that Explores the Life of Abraham and Applications to Modern Times

Anne Graham Lotz has solidly identified her obsession in life and it is the same as Abraham of the Old Testament – to passionately pursue and embrace a God-filled life. In her newest book set to release in August 2009, “The Magnificent Obsession: Embracing the God-filled Life,” Lotz, daughter of evangelist Billy Graham, examines the life of Abraham and how God used his faith and faults in tremendous ways to demonstrate how Abraham’s life can be applied to today’s culture. She finds parallels in Abraham’s life with which we all can identify: relocating, letting go of personal possessions and exhibiting patience when it seems that God is not responding.

“It all comes down to knowing God as Abraham did -- as His dear friend -- and we can all experience that kind of relationship with God by following Abraham’s example,” Lotz said. “Since nothing is wrong with God, if we don’t know Him the way that Abraham did, there must be something wrong with the way we live out the Christian life.”

In “Magnificent Obsession,” published by Zondervan, Lotz delves into steps every individual can take to be more like Abraham in seeking God’s friendship. She writes about how Abraham left everything behind, let everything go and entrusted everything to God completely. Lotz believes that everyone can use Abraham’s example to lead a God-filled life in today’s culture, regardless of life’s difficulties or present circumstances.

Lotz reflects that though her parents Billy and Ruth Graham were powerful, loving examples of living a Christian life, it was Abraham who shaped her own personal obsession. She realized early in life that she had to make her faith in God personal and that her parents could not do that for her. Lotz’ desire is to use Abraham’s experiences in faith and frailty to demonstrate that we can all know God as He truly is and be blessed by His leading in our lives.

“It’s amazing to think that God has so much potential for our lives if we’ll only let Him fulfill that in us,” Lotz said. “It takes living the life of Abraham, which is a step-by-step, one-day-at-a-time, trusting God kind of faith that brings with it the incredible blessing of eternal significance.”

Lotz founded AnGeL Ministries in 1988. The non-profit corporation’s mission is to provide biblically-based messages through personal speaking engagements, books, Bible studies and media materials. Lotz has impacted the lives of millions of people with her messages of love and spiritual renewal.

As a noted author, Lotz has received numerous accolades for her books, including the Gold Medallion Award for "Just Give Me Jesus," "The Vision of His Glory," "God’s Story" and "My Heart’s Cry," as well as other published works. Additionally, she produces daily radio messages, "Daily Light for Daily Living," that are heard on more than 700 outlets worldwide.

In 2000, Lotz launched her "Just Give Me Jesus" women’s revivals, which she has held in large arenas around the world, inspiring women with hope through Bible teaching that brings them into a fresh encounter with Jesus Christ. She has added a women’s breakaway to equip women for discipleship, entitled, “Pursuing MORE of Jesus,” and also a church-wide wake-up call, “I Saw the Lord” based on her book of the same name.
